Description: |
A boy carrying a fine, artistically made wicker-work offering. Arthur Fleischmann wrote the following about this photograph in his manuscript: "Out again on the road, I see a little boy who carries a small offering, a palm leaf ornament, into the rice field. This is done every day to please the kind gods or to appease the evil spirits. These little boys are a happy crowd in Bali, whether they are dressed in their festival clothes, bearing offerings, or completely naked, guiding the ducks into the paddy fields or riding on the back of a water buffalo." |
