Description: |
This is a preliminary sketch for the large diamond-shaped bronze plaque originally commissioned by Sir Harold Hood. It depicts the Virgin Mary together with various saints. Members of the Hood family posed for the saints. The drawing is done on the back of a used envelope postmarked January 1964. The reverse side of the envelope contains a small pencil sketch for the door handles of the Bank of New South Wales in Sackville Street.
