Artist: |
Baron Carlo Marochetti
|
This photograph in the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra shows what is clearly the plaster model for Marochetti's marble memorial to Capt. Granville Gower Loch in St Paul's Cathedral. It is supposed to have been taken by Frances, Viscountess Jocelyn (1820-1880), the daughter of Emily Cowper (later married to Lord Palmerston) and the 5th Earl Cowper. Viscountess Jocelyn was a talented amateur photographer. The present whereabouts of the plaster model is unknown.
