This decorative Perspex panel was carved with mallet and chisel by Arthur Fleischmann in the 1960s. During this period, Fleischmann was commissioned to create many Perspex panels for ocean liners. This particular panel he made for is own pleasure, and he kept it in his studio in London.
The panel is mounted in a frame with a dark background. The dramatic effect is enhanced by edge lighting.
