Hsiao-Chi Tsai

1981 -

Textile and fashion designer and sculptor. She was born in Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, and in 1999 came to England, where she took a BA in textile design at Chelsea College (2004) and an MA in mixed media textiles at the Royal College of Art (2006). It was at the Royal College that she discovered an ambition to produce large scale sculptural work. In 2005 she made a sculptural wall-hanging entitled Chrysanthemums Falling for the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. Since 2006 she has been collaborating with her long-term sculptor partner, Kimiyo Yoshikawa. Tsai also designs sculptural fashion accessories.
