Latika Katt

Sculptor. She trained at the Benares Hindu University and at the Slade School of Art in London, from which she obtained a certficate in 1982. In 1987 she was sponsored by the Henry Moore Foundation to study in England. She has taught at the Benares Hindu University and at the Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi, where she became professor in 1993, and head of department in 2000. She has exhibited widely in India, Australia and Europe. Katt was commissioned by the Rajiv Gandhi Foundatiion to sculpt a 22 foot high statue of Jawaharlal Nehru for the Jawahar Bhavan in New Delhi. A 14 foot high bronze statue of Rajiv Gandhi was ordered from her by a client in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu. More recently she has produced ceramic installations.
